I’m a Hungry Hungry Hippo: I <3 Food

I love food as I’ve mentioned once (or twice or three times) before and the other day I had a bit of a monster beast appetite come over me and so naturally I went to my 24 hour student dining hall and ate until my heart and belly were full (very, very, very full). I am fortunate enough to be graced with a 24 hour, all you can eat dining hall about a 5 minute walk from where I live which is such a blessing while also being such a curse. As much as I like to pretend I am the healthy eating/living yoga guru that constantly sports a matching lycra set from Lululemon, I am here to tell you it’s all a lie. Sometimes I want, no need, the damn piece of chocolate cake and damn it I’m gonna have it and enjoy every last bite of it! I am a true believer that to live a healthy lifestyle you need balance. You can’t expect yourself to eat salads every day of the year right?! For me personally, I try and listen to my body and in turn, give it what it needs. Sometimes it craves a cookie and so I give it a cookie. simple as that. People tend to say, “everything in moderation”, this is important to not only keep in mind for the occasional cookie but also for all the healthy stuff. Eating salads everyday would drive me completely crazy and so as much as I practice moderation with my cookies, I also try to apply it to my salads. I am not perfect, in fact I am far from it and so I try not to expect perfection in myself. Anyways, all this to say that recently I have been having a hard time eating what I want and not feeling bad about it and it’s important to remind myself as well as you guys to let it go. Everyone deserves to treat themselves once in a while and so thats exactly what I did 🙂

This is the very strange collection of food from the other nights late night post dinner meal:

-Peanut butter and jelly sandwich

-Approximately 5 white chocolate macadamia nut cookies

-Fruit explosion muffin (tasted like a brand muffin with a bunch of berries in it)

-Cinnamon toast crunch

-Butterscotch pudding

(It was very yummy!)

Treat yo’ self and go eat some good eats!
